I've had lots of practice at that -like when my card meter runs out of
electricity ;)

That makes alot of sense

But there must be some kind of internal vision. I'm thinking about some kind
of aura in the minds eye... maybe even colors?

Picture a herd of zebras. Then imagine that a few are standing closer to
you, but they are smaller, young zebras, so they do not appear larger than
the zebras in the background (just very slightly smaller). And all of the
zebras have the same amount of detail, and the same clarity (which is more
vivid than normal.)

The strong sense of depth is there but all the usual clues of depth are
absent.
