OK. Is it the same PC with dualboot or are this different PCs? if they are different and it's a parallel port scanner check if you have enebled EPP mode in the bios. And, as i realized, the scanning apps provided with the scanner are sometimes crappy. Try to scan from Imaging or another graphics program. I think you know that you should power on the scanner before swiching on the PC (at least with some scanners). Michael
