Since when has Windows ever managed to standardize something?  ;)

Well, I don't know about this new-fangled ".JIF" format, but I *do* know
that .GIF was _defined_ (let me say that again - D E F I N E D) to be
pronounced "jif".  No fancy schmancy "but the G stands for Graphic, and
THAT has a hard 'g'".  It's "jif".  It was BORN that way.  Bob, the creator
of the .GIF format, WANTED it that way.  Saying 'guh-if' not only sounds
lame, but it reflects the learning of the speaker.  ;)

So, 'jif' on!
