 You are joking, right? 8-)))  Ever tried a look at slrn [1] or trn,
just to name 2 that does it? And I was told that there is a newsreader
called pan or so using the gtk-widget set that can even handly
multi-part binaries really well (although, slrn can do that also and pan
is a graphical interface and not text reader).

 If you don't believe just take a look at the screenshots at the slrn
[1] page - btw: slrn is also available for win32 *smirks*
