You'd be better addressing those comments to Sarah Day...not to
me...you actually snipped my words referring to Sarah, viz:

that suggest that they are both kids or schoolchildren possibly
posting from a school account or maybe even a home account

So...it was Sarah Day, not me, who posted that "Public channel"
message about not posting swearwords or nudes because little kids
might be reading it...and she was not even referring to JPGs, GIFs
and other pictures...she was referring to what was being posted
here...including the swearwords and rudeness from Mepha.

My viewpoint is different.

I happen to think that children should be supervised if they are
allowed Net access. I think that many are not. Also children simply
cannot handle adult flamewars that they might quite unintentionally
provoke with their postings. The Net is not a pretty place akin to
Fairyland and those who survive need a rhinoceros' hide. The Net is
not for the tender and sensitive.

People who participate in Usenet newsgroups should be adult and my
definition of adult would probably be: a person who is fully and
solely responsible for their own actions and for the consequences of
their actions. Children are usually not in that category.

As I've said many times...anyone can post anything they choose to
post on unmoderated newsgroups but there can be consequences that
they then have to deal with. Freedom has its price in the
consequences arising from its use.
