On Wed, 18 Oct 2000 04:38:24 GMT, "alildevil" <rsc...@nyc.rr.com> provoked the following text: >Why is this not considered ascii art-I thought ascii was images made up of text, regardless if made >with a converter or not. >I have always prefered this (style) even when I was a small child and I saw my first one back in >70's of one hanging over my dads workbench, which was made my my uncle. >Can I have more thoughts if this is ascii or not??? Allo;w me to try to clarify this (without intended criticism towards you or anyone else). If i told you that i was gonna show you Van Gogh's sunflowers, would you assume it to be the original or a xerox of it? I bet you would be a lot happier to see the original than just a xerox. To most people it's not considered to be art if you just convert a bitmap to ASCII (i.e. make a xerox of it), it should could you some effort to make something that's worth looking at. For a picture to be real art, it should be hand-made. A converted pic is nothing more than that, it's a picture and that's it. It's still ASCII, but it's not art. I hope that clarifies things a bit. -- Peter Punk \ / ---\\\\--- / \ Versie 3.0 van de SETI@home CLI client is er! Vervangt ook de non-Intel client.
