You wanted an example? Here ya go. I created this barn in <10
minutes. The only limitation was my lack of artistic inclination. I
created
it entirely with ASCIIART, and I did not touch it up with a text editor.
If
you do not believe me then get the program
(http://www.tidalwave.net/~Shawg/ruw/games.html#asciiart) and try for
yourself. Note however that this particular picture was designed using
the
REGISTERed version. The unREGISTERed version lacks the cut & paste edit
features.
I have been told that my program does not belong here because this
group is dedicated to using standard keyboard ASCII. I understand and
respect that but I feel obliged to defend my program before leaving. It
has
been suggested that my program is "like all the others . . . needing to
be
touched up with an editor." I submit that this is simply not the case.
Even
if you want to use just the first 128 (or how ever many) ASCII codes,
you can
remap the ASCII pallette so that it matches YOUR needs (remapping
available
to REGISTERed users only). I designed this program because I could not
find
anything out there that suited my needs, so I made one. If you are not
interested in having it, don't get it. However, don't knock it just
because
you aren't interested. If you have a few minutes, give it a try--you
may be
surprised. Anyway, here is an example drawn COMPLETELY WITH ASCIIART!
