It is a UK term regarding being unemployed and getting your bills
payed by the government.

The whole post I made was a joke.  I was picturing a late night
infomercial by O'Reilly publishers with a testimony by you saying
something like "Because of the self paced training I received from
O'Reilly I was able to annoy sys admins with awk scripts and ascii
art.  Thanks O'Reilly!  Because of you my life has meaning."

I guess you had to be in my head to find it funny.  But then I have
been posting a 16 part ascii comic series that is probably that way.
