Curious..as I don't know much beyond HTML 1.0 or so -- what are they intending to replace the FONT specification with? All these years using Lynx has got me a little 'behind' :-) > > Haha, this is like expecting color prints from a black and white > > printer! Of course, one does not have to be that stupid! (To Pete Casso here) Watch it Pete - I've seen a B&W printer reproduce very nice color images (in color of course).. separate color-specific ribbons are useful for that ;-) > Yes, Pete, I am fighting for the future. I also dislike the use of HTML for EMail and News - It would, however, be nice if there were some sort of standard to specify things such as color, underline, and other attributes, that works in all Email and News. Alas, there isn't, so this debate will probably continue to eternity :-/ > ... Well, Pete, on the subject of whether or not `art form' and `medium' > mean much the same thing, either Webster's dictionary is right, or you > are. I'm siding with Webster on this one. I've always had it figured that ASCII art is only ASCII art when it exists as a text file with only 7 or 8-bit characters (from a standard character set like ISO 8859-1). It becomes an image when it's converted to GIF or another graphic format.
