       Just googling for the message in question - damn the net is slow today - 
hmmm, the response message from Sharky shows up, but not the original. That's 
odd - I thought that processing of headers stopped at the first <NEWLINE>, and 
certainly my newsreader is not treating it as a header line. Mind you, since 
Google news processing is not USENET, I suppose that it's free to do what it 
wants.
       I see in Wikipedia that :

       So even if it's not standards-compliant, it is acknowledged behaviour.
       
       I wonder what would happen if I set the first 2 lines of a message to be 
(for example), 
"X-Priority: 3
X-No-Archive: yes"
Would the X-No-Archive be honoured.
       I'm just thinking about it. Do I like this header and the ideas behind 
it? I'm not at all sure that I do. I think it's time to killfile any messages 
with this in the headers. Hmmm, no, not killfile, bit-bucket. See if there's 
anything of interest or value that goes into the bucket.
