If you look precisely you will notice, that in VGA text mode the font
is 16x9 pixel[1], and the screen is 720x400 pixel. In VGA graphics mode
you then get 16x8 pixel chars, 80x30[2] of them filling 640x480 pixel
screen.

[1] This is why multiple of the "chequered flag" >128 character next
to each other look so funny (either every 8th pixel duplicated, or
vertical space after every 8 pixels, depending on your video card).

[2] You may also want to look at using the 80x30 mode, as it gives 5
more lines. 80x50 text is usually too squashed, making art distorted.

Only with <128 is it an ASCII-OS, else it is an PC473-OS. :-)

Botton left corner change to: ` character.

Tip: leave away the 2 lines, just split with |, looks more elegant:

[START] | I Sys | ACmd | | I 09:00

And you have 2 lines more for user data.

Same you may want to make an Mac-like one-line menu at the top of the
screen. Or at least drop the bar beween the title and the menu.

Dito the bar above the status line can be saved.
