What is the point of ascii art?  A personal email without art is like
.... like ... like a body with no soul.

Since January, I shamelessly exploited the work of ascii artists.  I
scanned a.a-a each day and saved a very large inventory of drawings
for future use.  I first sent her flowers which were of a "friendship"
nature [tulips, daffodils] -- careful -- not too personal just yet.
As we discussed our lives and travels in great detail -- before,
during and since the time we met -- I carefully selected drawings to
illustrate some aspect of each message [cats, temples, castles,
hummingbirds, sailing ships, mermaids, knots, etc].  I amused her with
cartoons [the Steins, Macarena lessons, cows].  I tantalized her with
great art [The Lovers, The Persistence of Memory, Girl with a Pearl
Earring].  As we became more intimate, I shifted to drawings with
romantic symbolism [orchids, roses, dancers, Kama Sutra (blush)].  My
poor words alone could never have succeeded.  It was the art, almost
all from this NG.  What is the point of ascii art?  Indeed! - roy
