Sproat internet:1sp...@uvsc.edu I too got the TAIPAN virus from FIGLET. F-PROT says it does nothing but replicate itself. NOT so. It removed the registration code from my GIFLITE - that's how I discovered the problem. However, I experienced no crashes. The virus copied itself twice to GIFLITE; McAfee removed only one. I had to delete the file and vreplace it with a clean copy to eliminate the "Whisperer presenterer Tai-pan" code. Lee Huddleston
