On 29 Nov 2001 14:31:31 GMT, Gerfried Fuchs <use...@pinguin.pte.at> provoked the following text: >> I know, i do have Lynx (Win32 version, v2.8.4dev.16), that's how i >> checked for Lynx compatibility. Besides, i was talking about the lack >> of frames support in my copy of Lynx, perhaps that's different in more >> recent versions, i don't know. > > Lynx *does* support frames. Didn't you notice? It shows you the links >to the different parts of the frame. > > FRAME: top > FRAME: main > FRAME: bottom > >.. *is* frame support. lynx simply don't render frames. That doesn't >mean it isn't able to recognize them. And to be honest, I guess it >never will. Dang, i never noticed but now that you mention it i see it. But what i meant was to actually render the frames as you said. I didn't mean it as a form of critisism, but more as a fact. > If you are looking for a textmode browser that renders frames then give >w3m a try -- it's also available in a win32 version. I am not, but thanks for thinking with me. I am not looking for a textmode browser, i _was_ at one point looking for a browser as basic as possible and i think Lynx is as basic as it gets. I only used it to test my website. >> Why don't you take a look and see how i have optimised my backgrounds? >> The URL is http://home.hetnet.nl/~setiathomegroep/ > > You can take a snapshot of how w3m would display it at ><http://www.w3m.org/> ... Or.... You could take a look for yourself instead of suggesting links. >*hmm* Seems to be down currently (the >text-script, not the page itself). Maybe you have better luck. But you >can at least look at some screen-shots at that page, too. Looks nice, and i hope many peole will use it, but i don't think i will. >Alfie >P.S.: Please keep even your text-lines to about 74 characters or so at a >maximum, it makes them better to read - there are people that use only >80 character wide displays. Ermmm... Context? Did you mean my website or my posts? -- Peter Punk \ / ---\\\\--- / \ Castrate my email adress to reply.
