Thanks miK and others for all the feedback received.

Status sofar:

=> with <PRE> <CENTER> in that order,
     the html code works for:
       NS 3 & 4, and IE 2, 3 & 4, for the Mac
       NS 3 for Unix
NS 3, IE 4, and WinWeb2 on Windows
the html code does not work for
        Lynx 2 for Unix

I would say that the html code works for about 90% of websurfers

=> with <CENTER> <PRE> in that order, I have just verified that
the html code works for all five browsers that I have on my
     Mac: NS 3 & 4, and IE 2, 3 & 4.
It is probably safe to assume that this html code works for
the above mentioned web browsers as well, again catering for
     about 90% of websurfers.
If this html code works for Lynx and other similar browsers,
then we would cater for about 95% of websurfers, which is quite
     good, I would say.

Can anyone else verify the html code below?
With all kinds of web browsers on all kinds of computers?

<TT>08 </TT>

I would like to point out, that you can try out the Half Space Technique
on your own computer with any text editor that supports centering of
text. I personally like MS Word (because of its many features not under
discussion in this thread,) but much simpler text editors should already
have this centering feature (although the simplest text editors will
_not_ have this centering feature, perhaps we should update the FAQ?)

The above discussion is therefore on how to code the html such that as
many as possible websurfers actually see the Half Space Technique
rendered correctly. We are now at 90% to 95% of websurfers, can we make
it 99%?
