The knife is an integral part of the device, this is why it is referred to
as a swiss army /knife/. Denmark seems to have the same attitude as my old
high school, 'if it could possibly be used as a weapon, it must be
considered a weapon'. Responsible people end up getting punished by having
their tools taken away.

I've never heard of a mugging by assault rifle. Handguns, sure, sometimes,
but the victim is usually unarmed.

The world /would/ be a safer place if everyone had nukes. Where were you
during the cold war? Ever heard of mutually assured destruction? Nothing
keeps humans in line better than the threat of death.

The Dutch don't waste their time putting people in jail for indulging in
vices. The vast majority of prisoners in the US are in jail for drug
offenses, not violent crime. The dutch have the right idea, let people do
their thing and only arrest the ones who are actually harming someone.

Sure, crime exists everywhere, but it's obviously not as prevalent as
somewhere like, say, New York. Walk the streets of NYC for a few hours, you
will see thousands of cops and at least one person getting arrested. Try
walking the streets at 2am, see how far you get. I was able to walk through
the slums of Amsterdam by myself at all hours of the night, and no one
other than a few drug dealers bothered me. That's what I call a safe city.
