In article <35E...@iNOdirect.ca>, llizard <lli...@iNOdirect.ca> writes >> > >> > >> -=oO[ 2 Java-Anims on 1 page! ]Oo=- >> > >But what an excellent mistake to have made. I can't tell you how excited >I am to learn that more than one animation can work. Very cool! true! ... and fanx :D if, at the top of the page you had written ... "ONLY 1 per page" and "What follows are examples only" i may not have tried to fix it. i thought it was my browser playing up ... ... and only saw the comment about "1 per page" _after_ i'd made it work! > >I tried adding a "tack", but I got some weird "null" appearing in the >first animation. then I tried changing it to "tuck" and just got errors. >(this is what comes of using the "Blunder around" method. Do you think >it's possible to have three? yes ... i see no reason, having as many anims as can fit on the page, all running at once and at different speeds. > >But the two on one page works beautifully in Netscape Navigator 3.04. good news ... fanx > i have made a clearer example on how to achieve 2 on 1 page at http://www.shieldwolf.demon.co.uk/anim/anim2-2.htm the anim-code is verbose ... so variables are descriptive ... ... like frame_count_one frame_count_two speed_one speed_two stop_one stop_two frame_stack_1 frame_stack_2 and so on ... basicly ... all u need is to include in the script the two anim_frame_stacks (the two separate picture-sets) and the control-routine for each, ensuring that the variable-names in each control-routine are different, including separate names for the picture-sets. for some reason (i dont know what yet), in the control-initialise-routine that you use, each 'tlist' struct needs to have a unique struct name (and i dont mean just the pointer-label that its asigned to). ... this means if you use tl0 = new tlist0( tl1 = new tlist1( tl2 = new tlist2( etc, there 'should be' no limit to the number. the example i have described above in anim2-2.htm uses a different control- routine, somewhat simpler than yours. it doesn't require to count-up the number of frames in the picture-set to determine the value 'max' frames, altho' that could be useful, providing more flexibility to control the stop-start frame positions. ... perhaps to switch, mid-stream, to another frame-set or control-function. (guess i'll have to get a book on Java). i have re-written the script from your page so that its variable names are clearer than mud to read, while keeping the general structure. i've also duplicated one of the anims ... so there are now three. its 3Kb and e-mail'd it to you.
