These threads come around here periodically...you are simply just 
witnessing the latest outbreak.

Exactly. And that's how I still view alt.ascii-art after some 4 
years of its existence. Of my 65 newsgroups aa-a is the one that
gives me greatest enjoyment...I skip the nasties where possible. 

I think this posting of yours indicates that you are showing signs 
of burn-out following a prolific output as an ascii-artist who has 
earned many accolades and undoubtedly would be ranked as the most 
prolific of all ascii-artists until now.  

Other people have burnt out, e.g. Rowan Crawford ( Row ); Suzy Oviatt; 
Normand Veilleux; Bob Allison to name a few. All were acclaimed as 
outstanding contributors. Bob Allison even got his own newsgroup
created "alt.fan.scarecrow" such was the adulation of Scarecrow at 
the time of creation of the moderated newsgroup "rec.arts.ascii".  
Bob Allison could do no wrong and walked on water.

I remember the tornado. I did a little diddle to the picture at one stage.

But...I also remember the Pete Casso bashing which I did not enjoy :-(
nor did I participate therein or comment until someone called
for an end to the bashing...and then...I posted this to celebrate
the end to hostilities...
