Re: The Best way to make ASCII Art.

Well, despite my better judgment I have decided to post another article.  I
wish to explain some more things and set some stuff straight.

	First of all, I indicated earlier that I had never even SEEN the FAQ.
 How am I expected to read it if I can't see it.  If it has been posted here
then my news server must have deleted it.
	Second of all, I did not design my program for use in this group, I
just thought that I might find a customer or two lurking in here.  I designed
it originally for personal use and then decided that there *may* be a market
for it.  I have found some people who really do like using it.  I have also
found those who do not.  Such is life in the programmer's world.
	Third of all, it is true that someone told me early on the difference
between regular ASCII and extended ASCII.  However, by that time I had
received enough non-constructive posts insulting my program and me as a
programmer that I was determined to defend my program.
	As for displaying extended ASCII, I am not sure about UNIX, but in
OS/2 (and probably windoze) simply picking the proper font will display it. 
DOS does it automatically.  I will also be posting another rendition of the
"Barn" doen is (AFAIK) "normal" ASCII--ie no extended.  This barn was also
done using my program and was not touched up with a text editor.
	Bottom line, as I have said before.  This is not for everyone.  I
understand that some people enjoy doing things a certain way and don't like
new stuff (eg.  I prefer to use an enhanced text editor to create web pages. 
I hate WYSIWYG editors).  However, realize that not all people are like you. 
There may be some who want a mouse interface to text art.  For anyone who

	In closing, I am giving this group another chance.  Perhaps I was too
harsh to lump everyone into a single category.
