The reason I started doing any kind of ascii-art was for sigs. I was under the impression that anywhere but this newsgroup, sigs are not supposed to exceed 4 or 5 lines. That is one reason why my drawings are mostly small. The other is that I have always been entranced by miniatures and the fact that they leave a lot to the imagination. I don't want everything spelled out for me. Other people's drawings that I prefer do not require any moving of the page to see the entire drawing (that means they can't be larger than 18 lines). Most of Joan's, Shanaka's, Joris' fall into my preferred category for non-sig drawings. I think we are generally in agreement then on size preference, although I really do like the little ones that are clearly what they are depicting. Look at these horses by I don't know who. However, just to show that not only don't I attempt just small things and that I break my own size restriction of 18 lines or less, here are some things I think are entirely unsuitable for sigs. _ /) mo / ) |/)\) /\_ \__|= ( ) __)(__ ________+_______/ \_______+__________ - --_ _-| _ _ |---_ - - __-- |/_|) \ |\||\| /||_| /|-_-- __ _ --_ - |\/|\/-\| ||/|/ ||_|// | -_ - _-- - |_____ __________ _____|_ -- _ -_-- __ || | | | {| /| | || __--- -_ --__- || | | | {| /|| | ||-- - || | | | {| /||| | ||__-- __-- -__|| | | | {| |}||| | ||-- __-- ||_|_|_|_{| |}|||_|_|| -__ --__- -|| | | | {& |}||/ | ||--- __-- || | | | {| |}|/| | ||-__ -- __--|| | | | {| |}/|| | ||__-- -__ -- || | | | {| &}||| | || __ --- __-|| | | | {| |}||| | ||_---__- -- - -_ || | | | {| |}||| | || -- __ejm 97|| | | | {| |}||| | ||_--__- _--- _________||_|_|_|_{| |}|||_|_||______________ |}|/ |}/ |/ _\< ( > __)( _____/ // ___ / \\ / \\__ | _ // \ || | | \ \\ / _ || | | | \\/ | \ || | |_/ |/ | | || | | \ /| |_/ || | | \ \| | >_ ) | | \. _|\ | < _|= | /_.| . \/ * | * ** / * ** |\)/) ** \))ejm97/.,(//,,..,,\||(,wo,\ ).((// - \) phoenix \) /) () /;< ( /;;< ' Ww|;;< ' ' vvv;;/ vv;/Vv ' ' vvv Vv ' VV Vv ' ejm97 ' \\ Vv m m V ' V ' ' ' V ' ( v ) ' ( ) ' ( ) ) ( ) ) ' (( ) ( ) _ -._ )) ( === ^^ / \ =(< > ) =( \ / \=\==\ ' ^^/ ='== /' == '-.>_.- ===^^ / == ==== / === ^^^^ === | == === \ |==' == ^^ ^^^^ ^^ ^^^^ ^^^^ ^^^^ ^^ NOTE: If you hit the reply button, add an "e" to the "freent"; its absense is to stop the torment of automatic mailers. -- _____ Hmmm....
