The commodore series has a whole heap of special characters. It would take a little bit of work to convert ascii to such a system but it could be done. Try looking at the ascii art archive here http://www.ascii-art.de/ascii/ You might have trouble with some older computers like the C64. The C64 only has 40 columns of data across.
