Me, wrathful? Surely not!

BUT ... in the `How do I start drawing ASCII art?' section I do refer
people to the links in the `Where can I find more ASCII art?' section
for links to tutorials (where after a little clicking they could find
both of your links), rather than putting the links in myself and turning
the FAQ into a link-fest.

Eee, oh no! /users/cosc/undergrad/stage2/mpt26/doc/ascii-faq.html is the
filename which the HTML version of the FAQ has on my computer, and for
some perverse reason Netscape Mail adds that BASE HREF tag to the file
when I attach it, so that my computer is the only computer in the world
for which those links work (not only the `Go to Top' ones, but also the
go-to-question ones)! So ... delete that line, pronto!

Hmmm, well it seems that Netscape Gold (your graphical HTML editor --
sigh) won't accept <H1></H1>s inside <LI></LI>s. End result being that
the headings for the questions in your version are really small ... 

But not to worry. Next year, in my spare time (eh?), I will write a Perl
script which converts the HTML version of the FAQ to plain text (easier
that than vice versa), mailxs the plain text version to Colin, then
makes two copies of the HTML version, adds links to GeoCities and Joan's
home page to one copy, mailxs that to Joan (mailx won't do anything
silly like adding BASE HREF tags), finds the BODY tag in the other copy,
changes it to Martin's favourite colours, adds a link to Martin's home
page, and mailxs that to Martin, then makes me supper ...

Because this will be my last message until next year (account closing in
-- let's see -- 1 hour 20 minutes), I'll take this opportunity to wish
you all ...
