   The 77 columns won't cause trouble.  The problem you had was that 
while 80 columns is the 'standard', many systems-software actually wrap 
anything over 78 columns.

   I don't know why this is, but I was told this when I started making 
the SAAAs.  So I have tried to make all my original art and composites to 
78 columns or less.
