Re: About ASCII History...

The American Standard Code of Information Interchange didn't exist until after computers were present. The history section at my site tries to go back to identify various forms of 'text art' which obviously was the precursor to ASCII art. BTW, just today I received a copy of Alan Riddell's book, "Typewriter Art" -- what a book! It shows the first dated typewriter art -- in 1898! There's lots more really great pictures too! Just wait until I add all this good info to the 'history' page! :) -joan -- __ _,, /_ \ sSSSs \_\( s\_SS joan stark (\/`"`\___/`"`\/) spu...@juno.com \/)-(`-'-')=(\/ /___\ |__\ /\ ASCII ART GALLERY: //||__ ||\\//` http://www.ascii-art.com \\'--.) \\`` jgs (/ (/
