Using ASCIIART you can use the mouse and an ASCII pallette to "paint" your text pictures. A couple of years ago, I was working on a game called Quest ][ (http://www.tidalwave.net/~Shawg/ruw/games.html#quest2). I needed to design a dozen or so city maps. I elected to do it in text mode for various reasons. After making the initial maps using MS-DOS Editor, I decided to make a program that would aid in the design of future maps. The original program was rather small and simple. I continued to add to it, and then redesigned it and called it ASCIIART. The bottom line is this, don't knock it until you try it. Just because you like using a text editor and using the cryptic code structure doesn't mean that someone else does. What my program does is allow more people to be able to create good ASCII art.
