Right, here's my attempt at translating your reply:

>Ja, jeg kunne lse dit hollanske.

Yes, i can read this Dutch.

>De to sprog minder om hinanden.

But to speak it is more difficult.

>Der er er flere ligheder .. ogs med tysk.

Because .. .. ...... ........ .. also with ....

>Many of the european languages borrow from each other or stem from latin or
>greek so there is a natural likeness.

That's part of my fascination with language, you can often (not always) deduct
the meaning ar at least get the outline of what someone tries to say from a bit
of basic knowledge of other languages.

>Which is why knowing latin or greek is actually not useless knowledge as you
>can use it as an aid in translating languages you do not know.
>A lot of countries that are located in the old germania have further
>similarities.

>Still I must say reading your dutch is not easy .. but I can.

I wonder if there are Frysian people here that can give a demonstration of
Frysian (or Frysk as Frysians say), i wonder if that would be easier for you.

>Hmmm .. Milk ?

Ever heard of all those cows we have here in Holland? :-)

>Oh and you can actually drink the water here .. AND like it - Unlike some
>countries .. though i'm sure you have clean water in Holland too.

Dutch laws concerning drinking water are very strict, you can safely drink the
water from the tap here.
The water is even so good that the only things i regularly drink is coffee and
water.

>There are typical danish meals though .. things you dont normally see

>Uhh do tell ! :)

Now you see me, now you don't.

ObASCII: Me after my disappearing act :-)
