That might be true.
But I think you would have to be really stupid to forget how to read.

I think Peter is right .. watching programmes that aren't dubbed makes people
learn the language better.
You can verify this by speaking english with inhabitants of countries that do
dub their programmes.
They're aren't quite as good at it and their accent is usually way off.

But  what I was saying in the first place was that such countries should
broadcast the original language too along with the dubbed version. The original
version with subtitles would be best and fortunatly that is how most countries
do it (americans however .. if they see a good foreign film they recast it with
american actors and shot another version of it .. Nikita f.x was originally
french. *g*)
But you can't just change the style of broadcasting for an entire nation like
germany for instance .. there are too many people that can't speak even a bit of
english and are not used to subtitles.
