the original/diddles sig theme has been discussed and is the suggested way
to do this. what might be included in the case where the addition to
the pic is not your own original work then could be:
 
original/diddled*
*added xyz by jgs

in the case where you say "98%" diddled, this sounds more like you 
reached the "new work based on" point.
