My thoughts follow the same way. If you use a converter to create a picture in
jpeg format from one in bmp format this doesn't mean that you make this picture
yourself. The author of it is a photographer. And you just converted this
picture from one format to other one. This action can be made by anyone. The
same happens when you create an ASCII picture from graphics. Perhaps such ASCII
picture is in need of some corrections and assume that you made them. But you
didn't compose the whole picture by your hands - you just changed some symbols
to others. So this isn't a process of creation an ART work, just conversion and
correction.
