MJ, THanks very much for your note. I really never intended to stir up this hornet's nest like this. I wish I could just unpost but I don't think that's an option. Maybe it wouldn't be an issue if I never posted any characters such as Disney or other cartoons, but to be honest those are some of the fun ones. And when it comes right down to it, I suppose you could say that nearly every source is someone else's idea, unless you're creating entirely from your mind. Ling LIng came from a small valentine... The apple picture (which I don't know if I posted here) came from a picture on a school paper, the picture of the animals picking an apple came from a painting book. Yes, I change it quite a' bit when I do it as ASCII art, but I do get basic ideas and inspiration from other sources. Before I found this newsgroup, the only ASCII art that I had ever seen that was computer generated was basically abstract designs. THey were fun to look at, but I had no idea that it could be so incredible. The picture of Einstein in the ASCII FAQ was one of the nicest things I'd ever seen. And to be honest, it was rather intimidating. I hesitated to post here at all because I figured people were used to that quality and I didn't think my pictures measured up. To me, it's so obvious the difference between what I do and what a computer can generate. The detail on a computer-generated picture is so very precise. Well, now I'm the one who is babbling. THe author of the note which prompted me to withdraw from this group wrote an apology. I appreciate his effort. He apparently did not realize that the work I do is not computer generated. Thanks again for your note. I probably should have sent this privately, but now that it's written I haven't got a clue as to how to do that. Oh, by the way, I'm MRS. :) (And I've got six kids, who really enjoy this art stuff too.) -- Sus...@netcom.com, Sus...@genie.geis.com
