[TRIMMED most of the x-posted newsgroups, only leaving the group I saw it in and the more obvious targets for the original spam.] In article <452...@hotmail.com>, wrote: > HELLO GOOGLE ABUSE DEPARTMENT: A waste of breath and electrons. Use the web to find a physical address for your local Google affiliate. E.G. google.co.uk tells me that the "google London office" is at "United Kingdom Sales Office / 18 Soho Square / London W1D 3QL / United Kingdom / phone: 0-207-025-8010 / fax: 0-207-681-1995" (on page http://www.google.co.uk/press/pressrel/ukoffice.html). Now, Google don't (yet) care about their user's abuse of USENET because it doesn't affect Google's normal operations. Their abuse mail autoresponder can handle a lot of mail. But, their physical office on the other hand is used to getting physical mail containing things like bills for toilet paper and rent demands. They have to look at these letters. And they have to find these important letters in the mountain of spam that they get through the door. This costs them money. So, print out the offending spam (costs you a couple of pennies), hand-write on it why it is an offense against nettiquette, stick it in a re-used physical spammer's envelope (costs you nothing), put a far-too-low physical stamp onto it (costs you pennies again - or a penny), address the envelope to Google's physical address, and drop it in the post. It will arrive at Google's physical address, with a demand for payment. If it get's immediately thrown in the bin, the Post Office will still be demanding payment (they deliver under-paid mail in the UK, but demand extra payment, and most companies *have* to pay because it *could* be important genuine mail that has lost a stamp in the post. It happens.). A human will almost certainly have to look at it (costing Google around a pound if they spend more than a few seconds looking at it). It will clog up their business. It will raise their costs. It will hurt their bottom line. And eventually Google's bean counters will tell Google's programmers to do something about the damned nuisance. It's going to take a time. But I can tell you that dropping one of these spams into the post box every week makes the heart feel much better than you'd expect for spending 5 pennies. >
Suggest you terminate the service of these morons who > like to SPAM multiple newsgroups with their twisted thinking. Or maybe > you can pay their way into an alcohol recovery program, the hiding place > of all morons looking for a copout. "Its everyone and everytings's fault > except my own. I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR MY OWN ACTIONS!!!" > Google's advertising and sales divisions are responsible for the (in-)actions of Google's Groups programmers. Make *them* pay. -- Aidan
