Javascript anims..

I've found that some of the aforementioned animations don't run when I
look at them.  Strangely, on Joans page, I can see the Sea Monster one,
but not the others.  The words "midi control" are there, strangely
lonely, and look as if they could do with the company of some buttons.

Anyone tell me why?  (I can see Llizard's and Krogg's, etc.)

It's because Joan still has the old coding (with a few errors in the
html -- too many body tags, Joan!) that works only for Netscape on at
least one of her animations (I only checked the parade but presume that
the rest are the same.)

I feel somewhat responsible. I gave her the coding before I understood
anything about it (Ha ha ha ...that implies that I understand something
of it now....) so I feel obliged to fix one.

Yep-- I just haven't had the time to change the coding... sorry...
I've been busy making some new ASCIIs... creating the
animations are tedious and time-consuming.

Don't worry about it llizard... I know that I can pick up the coding
at your site or at Kangaroos... and when I find some time, I'll
get around to it... sigh...

Just a suggestion: You might put up a bot more of a warning about the funny
java than you have right now. I blithely assumed that my Netscape 4.04
would handle it fine if it was viewable only with netscape 3. I don't  know
about 3, but netscape 4 is really finicky about bad java. If it's not
perfect, Netscape just dies when it sees it. When I was running Windoze, it
blue-screened at bad java. Now just Netscape dies. If you know it's a
little buggy, I'm sure I'm not the only user who would appreciate a more
explicit warning. until you seem to have the scripts fixed.

If you like, I would be willing to test them for Netscape 4-kindness when
you think you've got them debugged. All the e-mail addresses that have been
attached to messages from me are real, dingman at dingman dot bundy dot
earlham dot edu will give you the best response time.  [I don't worry too
much about spam sinc eI can just delete mailboxes and give myself new ones
if they get on too  many lists, but I gues I should take a lcue from those
of you who have been around longer and sorta protect that one, since it is
my promary login.]

It's not that my old coding is "bad"-- it needs to be updated
so that other platforms can see it.  I've heard from Netscape
3.0 and 4.0 users- Gold and Communicator-- they've had
no problems... it's the *other* browser...

Again, all I have to do is replace the template (no big deal)
and add an \r to each line (that's the big deal....)  sigh....
As I said, I'll get to it... one of these days...
