OH IE 4.1 and Outlook Express What a Headache **help please*

I have problems displaying Ascii art in Outlook Express, and on my web
pages? does anyone know how i can fix this. My signature doesnt work either.
I cant figure out why.  Can anyone help. To make it look right i have to
draw it in my message window.

I only know that OE has problems in that the first space of every line gets
deleted, or something similar.

For web pages, simply wrap <PRE> </PRE> tags around the body of the artwork,
or link your page to the art file, which would be stored as a *.TXT file.

At least, Lynx interprets this convention properly - withouer either of
these Lynx (and probably all other WWW browsers) would just wrap the
artwork, thinking it's unformatted text.

for your web page place your ascii-art in the pre-formatted text HTML
 container thus :-

and as a quick fix for outlook-excess... go to the menu-bar and select:
tools > options > read > fonts >
and set courier for both proportional and fixed.

courier isn't brilliant but it maybe all you can select at this time...

there is (i can send upon request) a registry patch to set outlook to
use the fixedsys font thru'out

for your sig in outlook... go to the menu-bar and select:
tools > stationery > news > font-settings >
and set to fixedsys (my preference:) and click 'ok'
then select:
signature >
and click the 'file' radio-button then click 'browse' and go to the
folder where you have the text file you have made containing your sig
and click on the filename and then click 'open' ...
then click on the little check-box labelled 'add this sig to all mesgs'
click 'ok'
click 'apply'
click 'ok'

next ... get hold of a copy of the FAQ

... mebbe we can persuade the FAQ-maintainers to post it weekly instead
of monthly ? ... dunno
