Sword and Winged Crown

Sword and Winged Crown

After Deelkar resized the sword somehow (and it really looks nicer
since then :) )... I tried to finish the plan I had, combining that
sword with the winged crown as a kind of banner that I drawed "in real"
some years ago...

I hope you enjoy it! Any suggestions and/or improvements are welcome
for it's still my first piece of real ASCII art...

Again: that was the original picture:

The tilde (~) is no good as well because depending on the font it
may a medium or high char.

Perhaps you should try it without shading.

The "I" is IMHO non-optimal for lining, because in some font (mine;)
it looks like this

 "|"                            |
 _|_ , and in others like that |

so if you for a straight line, you may better use "|", whilst you
may use brackets or colons for a frayed line:

 |  :  ;  ]  (  }  )  {
 |  :  ;  ]  (  }  (  }
 |  :  ;  ]  (  }  )  {
 |  :  ;  ]  (  }  (  }  etc.

OK, didn't think of that, thanks for the hint!

I used the I exactly for that reason .. I did not want the handle to
look to sharp-lined and not too smooth either. Maybe ] and [ would have
been better choices, I'll try that out....

Wow... I wouldn't have believed it if someone had said an ASCII-image
could pretend exact shapes by leaving out some pieces... I'm impressed
(but maybe that's for I'm not experienced enough so far...)

This part is what I really tried to work hard on ... But I failed in
"pleasing myself" with my version... Mine looked far sharper and
rougher ...  That's a smooth way I didn't imagine... Thank you !

OK ... I think that's a bit too straight at the sides ... even though
my version looks somewhat like a sausage ;)

Phew... Have to learn a lot still, but I think I'll try something else
the next time... Thank you for taking your time :)

Like the drawing.

Wow... those look somewhat ... uhm.... fluffy ... yeah... that was the
first word coming into my mind.... Fluffy clouds or something ;) Clouds
of wadding .. I don't know... I think in real life I would laugh at a
king bearing a crown with such "things" at the side.... anyway .. they
look interesting :)

Your way of giving the blade some "glance of metal" is a very nice one,
I'll keep that in mind! ... but concerning the flags, I think the same
as I thought about the "clouds" ... ;) As a banner it might look nice
in real life, but if that crown was real ... uhm.... I wouldn't wear
it, if I were queen ;)

P.S.: It's amazing how many people work on that pic :) ... Nice to
know!

Thanks. Clouds, Ostrich plums, Dounuts the apperance was never quite
right for the sword. Truely i can picture the flags of the conquered
protraied in a case upon the victors crown, but those flags are needing
help :) .... queen

A warrior queen`s winged crown with the wings for back

Never use a long word when a diminutive one will do.
