PPC Version of gifscii available

PPC Version of gifscii available

alt.ascii-art · 3 messages · 11 Feb 1995 - 12 Feb 1995
Hi all,

Last semester, I posted to ask if anyone had compiled the source for
Gifscii for the Mac using CodeWarrior. I wanted a native version of it
because the 68k one was really slow. No one knew. I would have done it at
the time, but I didn't have CW.

Well, I do now and I compiled it for the PPC so if anyone's interested,
let me know. Also could someone tell me how to post it to some other FTP
site or something? I have never done that before.

Thanks,

- Michael

You could post it to Stanford's Sumex-Aim, the largest and most complete
archive for mac shareware and freeware. Here's part of the info i got
from their mailing:
-------------------
The Info-Mac Archive is available at 50 public and private sites around
the world. For the site list, request it by mail (address below), or try:
  gopher://sumex-aim.stanford.edu/info-mac/help/mirror-list.txt
Also accessible by ftp. Help files and indexes are also in
info-mac/help/.

Mail administrative queries and info to
inf...@sumex-aim.stanford.edu
Mail articles for publication in the digest to
inf...@sumex-aim.stanford.edu
Mail files for inclusion in the archives to
mac...@sumex-aim.stanford.edu

To submit a file greater than 800K, or to avoid submitting by (and
segmenting for) email, send email describing the file to
bac...@sumex-aim.stanford.edu and upload it to:
  ftp://daemon.ncsa.uiuc.edu/Incoming
As with emailed submissions, non-text files must be binhexed.
-------------------
when you send it in, include a description to the file you are sending
in, cause they archive it and the daemon automatically puts your mail
message into the digest which comes out every few days, telling people
what is new on the site. Make sure the file is binhexed. Also, do you
know where a 68k ver is? i'm still on my fly IIsi, so i would not have
much use for a PPC version, yet.

Also, if you could put a copy in my incoming folder, I will put it in
the GIfscii folder in my FTP-Gopher site here. Go to ftp.wwa.com and put
it in pub/incoming/ScareCrow

   Thanks.
