 I'm looking for a font like fixedsys (but smaller) or courier (but
not so wide). I mention these fonts because they are the only ones I
know that can visualize signatures or ascii art in a correct way. For
example, my signature (that appears at the end of this message) must
show a JL drawn with characters like /  /  and \   \   etc. If you try
to see it with arial font, the / / / appear at a different distance
and therefore the drawing is unrecognizable. The problem I have is
that fixedsys or courier are too big (I'm using 640x480) and with the
mail readers or with Pirch, the text gets out of the screen. Can you
help me with this?

I think there's a small monospaced typeface at
http://www.rockpile.com/~cowgod/apple2/apple2.html.

FWIW, it's original purpose is to make your PC look like an Apple //.
