You can get these if you stand 10+ feet away and look ...
	I'd hazard a guess that Doug is scanning pictures in
	and then converting using some pretty standard
	imaging tricks.

Grab an n by k chunk of pixels from scanned picture and
	determine the relative intensity (b&w) level of that
	chunk and replace it with the ASCII that has the
	most similar intensity.

Cute and clever looking pictures ... but it is my impression
	that this is not quite the intent of this news group.
	
BTW ... I've seen some great ... great pics here ... thanx
	from one who gets to enjoy the fruit of your labor.

If you make your vision blurry, you can make out what Doug's picture are
supposed to be.  It took me a while to figure this out.
