big thimble needed

This is the best I can do for a large thimble :-)


If I were looking for a large thimble I would phone:

Sailmakers.
Fishing Net makers and ships chandlers.
Shoemakers and shoe repairers.
Kitemakers.
Makers of canvas and leather goods.
Saddlers and suppliers of horse riding gear.

You may have to settle for plastic rather than metal. Plastic 
thimbles are likely to come in a greater range of sizes.


I have added rec.kites to the distribution list, the folks there do a lot of
kite making and have lots of clues on equipment etc.
