I use telnet to connect my mac to a unix machine. I've got an image file that I uudecoded to form a .jpg file. Now the question.....how can I view it on my Mac screen? I assume that telnet does VT100 emulation, so there's got to be another emulator that will let me "cat" these images up to my Mac screen....... .....but what is it and where can I get a copy? I'll owe you greatly for a hamburger today! -- ratchet scientist

VT100 won't touch a graphic file- it's only for text stuff. You must get a MAC
program that views graphic files (.jpg, .gif, .pict, etc.).
Try any large FTP site-- oak.oakland.edu is a good start!

Or if you don't want to download them, and you have a graphics utility
at the UNIX side, you can emulate UNIX with MacX and view the image
remotely. And be able to open many telnet windows if you like.
MacX 'aint free, but it works miracles.
