This one was kind of hard to do, since I first thought of the next
strip (id est Wednesday's strip) and then had to do some set-up for
it to work as well as possible. That's tough, because not only did
I have to work backwards, I also want the set-up AND the following
ones to be funny in and of themselves. I normally just end up faking
it and then pretend to be this pretentious writer/artist type you've
come to love to hate. <-- See? I'm doing it!

Okay, first things first... I always go to the site to read the strip
so that I won't be distracted by your explanations. #254 is brilliant.

What ARE you going on about? Are you saying that this is another one
of those dashed-off strips that you don't think are really funny?
Please stop apologizing for those. I suspect that one of the reasons
that they work so well is the very fact that they ARE off-the-cuff and
unplanned.

Nope. I'm just saying that it was harder to make than most strips. I
tried several different punch lines and a couple of different first
panels. One of them had NB start out head down in the ground, but I
couldn't come up with a good transitional panel where he popped out
of the ground AND managed to say his whole line. It just looked
awkward, so I went with less action.

Well HAH! This one -isn't- off-the-cuff. It's as off-the-cuff as they
come. Heck, I only made it to be able to segue into the next strip,
how's that for planning?

None taken, I was smiling broadly as I read your off-the-cuff three-
panel strip. :D Actually, I'd rather come off as a pretentious artist
to balance out the oft geeky comic strip content. I guess my ruse has
succeeded! BWA-hahahahahaaaaa!
