Help on .plan

Hello,

	Recently I copied an ascii animation as .plan file. But when I 
finger myself, it turns out to be a lot a characters instead of the 
animation. Then how can I use an animation as my plan?

I�m not an expert in these things, but i think the problem
lies on the fact that the finger information flows thought
text mode, 7 bit information, and the animations have
control characteres that use the 8th bit.

That is whay the vt files must be uuencoded at the news!

What is hapening to you is that when you finger youself
you see the "animation", but the 8th bit of the caracteres
is always "0", the result is a screen full of trash!

No, the escape character is ASCII 33octal -- you only need 7 bits.

Vt files must be uuencoded because many news servers remove the escape 
character.

What is probably happening is you are doing `finger you' rather than 
`finger yo...@your.site'.  Just something weird about fingerd.
