I hath made it back from the pits of no-net-access.
Durring the time I had away from the net I had finished something like
my 57th ascii butterfly and 25 or so asciipr0ns. The pr0ns were really
nice as I had started using some rather nice composistion techniqus.
And I had even written a script to post them all along with comments
as soon as I had a network connection again. It would have also
updated my website at the same time so that it would be like I had
never left.
But my laptop was stolen out of my bag while I was going crosscountry
for 6 days via the bus. So now I have lost all of that work and all
of the source photos that I used for insperation and modles.
The good news is that I have found a site that appears to have all of
the butterfly photos on it along with the other information needed to
keep that searies going and as soon as I find a way to duplicate my
methods on a windows machine I will retrace my steps and once gain
comence to dothe 20 or so butterflies that I have already asciified
but lost.
It also apears that Tran has stoped posting here so I will need to have
the ascii art fart page emailed to me via one of my scripts.

No twice a year the council comes around with a big scoopy thing and
trucks and if you leave your broken washing machines and furniture by
the road they take it away. Everyone goes out in their utes and starts
looting stuff. I met some builders who had found some sinks and a bath
tub. I also got 4 monitors, 3 scanners, 2 mice, 3 keyboards, 6 cases, 4
hard drives, 1 cd rom, 2 floppy drives, assorted motherboards, ram,
chips (486-p200) all working. People just throw it out because it's old.

So right now all I use windows for is ssh and those times when GUI web browsing is needed. There just isn't enough of a demand for that kind of thing. Most people want a spacific subject done in ascii and can go to the ascii-art index for that. People just throw it out because it's old. :) I have heard of some communtities doing what your describing. Must be working out fairly well for all concerned. Here we a hazardous waste day about every 3 months for households in the communtity, everything from cleaners, paints, oils, ect. Works fairly well. lgbeard
