Revived?

Posted with a forged approval and cc: to the moderator contact
address, in case anyone's there.  DejaNews shows no posts to
this group this year, which implies that Mr. Oglesbee's two
posts didn't reach them, but they did reach me, so...  CC's
to other relevant people.

(Ironically, the Collabra control message spew in August
did include a newgroup unmoderating this group - no Tezcat did
*not* honour it, that is *not* how I saw this post - to which
tale replied with a newgroup remoderating it.  That's what DN
*will* show you for this group this year.)

Hi.  The reason there's nothing here is that the moderator isn't
home, near as I can tell.  You might want to try the alt.*
ascii-art groups, if you get any of them.  Or you might want
to go to news.groups and look into an RFD to un-moderate rec.arts.ascii,
which was proposed for removal from the list of groups back in
May by the highly respected Jonathan Grobe.  (No, nothing's been
done, and the group isn't going to disappear right away; but if
anyone's interested, they might as well get moving.)

feel free to consult an FAQ on my web site.  If you decide after
reading a little of it that it isn't helping you, skip to the

You might also check out the record on the un-moderation of
misc.handicap, which is the major precedent:

(Note to news.groups:  There is also on-topic traffic in the part
of Usenet for which comp.laser-printers is unmoderated; this is
another group whose removal Jonathan Grobe had suggested; there,
too, I'd rather see it go unmoderated.  Yes, I know it's obvious
that both that and rec.arts.ascii could drown in posts if
unmoderated, but I don't see what else to do.)
