I will give credit for trying.  But it doesn't really capture his
facial features.  It might be the font you used to type it out vs the
font it is posted in but his face isn't nearly long enough and the
facial features seem pinched compared to his actual look.  
If I were to try it I would see how small I could make it first.  If
you can capture him in 6 lines of ascii then converting that to 20
lines should be no problem.  Maybe look at his picture while reading a
website on charactures?

The paragraph above looks like gibberish.
But I agree that OP's picture does not resemble Obama.

And yes, I can't do better.
Perhaps I can do worse if I try hard. :-)

There is no such thing: there is no font indication in a Usenet message, the
font is the sole choice of the reader.

My point exactly.  If they used a font that is taller than normal like
ter-k20n and then posted it and we all view it in a normal font like
Courier then the art we see is going to look shorter but wider than
what they saw when they created it.
