You may want to copy + paste those messages to a text editor like Notepad.
You can then decrease the font size so that the images don't wrap.

Actually, 72 characters. And please keep in mind that this IS an
English speaking forum.. We don't want to put us Finns to bad light by
posting in our own language, do we?

I think it's okay, as long as the translation is given in the same post.

Hmm, forgot to add a smiley to the end of that sentence, but who
cares..

I'd rather keep postings in a single language.. Just like it's not
considered nice to post in HTML even if your mailer sends it as a
cleartext version elsewhere in the file.

Same here, but i know that if one meets a fellow countryman/woman, it's
very tempting to write in your native tongue.
Luckily i can understand some German, a bit of French, a bit of Spanish, a
lot of Dutch and English, and even a few words in Japanese but not a word
Finnish/Suomi.
No wait, i know that "kamin" is Finnish for stove! :-)

Very true ... foresten er der nogen danskere derude som lser denne nyhedsgruppe
? :)

I'm a bit "worldly/international" myself but Finnish seems to be
incomprehensible to most people - save the Finnish. Most other languages base
themselves on something common or borrow words from each other .. Finnish is
very unique.

: No wait, i know that "kamin" is Finnish for stove! :-)

Funny .. "kamin" is also is the Danish word .. I always thought the two had
nothing in common.

Well you learn something new every day.

: I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.

Same here.

Insanity is nothing but a deep desire to be different, something most people
share.
So you see maniacs are normal people too.

Except that it isn't.

Well, they do have a link - Swedish, to be precise. There's plenty
of originally Swedish words in Finnish (as well as more modern words
from English and some very old ones from germanic languages).

Joka tapauksessa suurin osa suomen sanoista pohjautuu kuitenkin joko
suomalais-ugrilaiseen kantasanastoon, tai sitten niin vanhoihin
lainasanoihin, ettei niiden alkuper useinkaan ole maallikolle selv.

Vilket kan vara nyttigt, since that means we can speak Finnish even
with foreigners present without having to worry that they'd recognize
some of the words, varsinkin jos vltt sivistyssanoja ja puhekielen
lainoja. Ce n'est pas tres poli, though.
