Hi, i'm in need of the name "John" in ascii-art format, and i'm no good 
at it.  Could some dear and kind person please have a go at it for me

Done with Figlet. Figlet can be downloaded at

They have tons of better fonts! It uses forms: pick a font and other opts,
then type the text and it's made.
