ANSI to ASCII conversion?

Anyone know if there's a way (preferably a program) which converts
ANSI drawings to ASCII?

     Well, with TheDraw you can load an ANSI and save it as ASCII, it will
strip off all of the coding and color and leave you with a plain ASCII file. If
you search the webwith yahoo for TDRAW462.ZIP you should find it.

Well, How many inhabitants did the USofA have? About 52% of that is female...
I leave out the number of Iraqui women and other countries Mr.Bill did his
thing to... =)

If you use IE4.x have a look at:


It's only one page, because this area is under construction. In contrast to my
former tries this page is not working with tables. The ANSI font is temp.
downloaded from the server and only used for this page. Normally it would
work with Netscape too (see source, second style definition) but the server
must know the MIME '.pft'. The advantage of this system is that you could
use the extended ANSI char. direct. The file size ins only 14 KB (+ 5 KB font
file, could be used by all pages).
You could create a exact copy from a ANSI file if you use a font file with
DOS identical characters. This is the reason why this page didn't look
100% like ANSI.

I think there is no program available which can do such a conversion. You
could make a plain text file (look at Lester�s posting) and color it.
After that you have the problem to find or build a TrueType ANSI emulation
font ...

Ansi to Ascii can be converted with THE DRAW.

I have finished the page with the HTML ANSI files. The WebFonts have been removed
because they are too incompatible. Therefore you must download and install a font
before viewing the files (on the page). The advantages are:
- Netscape and IE compatible
- direct use of DOS ANSI characters (no tables or other tricks)
- small file size

(Browser must support 'Style-Sheets')

can use. I have a bunch of ANSI here:
