Considering the amount of trash like this lately, I'd say, do bother to waste bandwidth, mail each one of these persons a binary file of, say, 1 megabyte in size. When backed up, or even semi-organized, this has proven in some newsgroups to be a very effective way of getting rid of this shit. Lennert.
While I realize that what I'm posting is kinda anti-purposefull to what
I'm going to point out, that sentance will make sence later, I'm going to
post it anyways. STOP FOLLOWING UP THE POSTS PEOPLE! Thus far I have
said, oh, another get rich quick scheme, and deleted the message, only to
have it pop up when people respond to it. Don't you get it?! The more you
respond, the longer these posts hang around, and the greater the chance
they have to work! Stop responding, just delete them. This will be the
ONLY time I will respond to this sort of nonsence, and don't respond
youself in kind, make this it ONLY responce of this kind, if for no other
reason than because the point of this is so that people don't respond.
Got it? My 2 cents.

I think it is better to mail the user with a copy to their postmaster. When I do that, I consistently get back a message from the postmaster saying the user's account has been deleted. If enough of them get deleted, there won't be anyone to send such crap.
