Moin.

Man darf dabei
allerhchstens 5 Hardwareteile austauschen. Danach wird der 50 stellige Code
wieder verlangt.

Da ich selber 5 und nicht einen Rechner habe, werde ich mir Windows XP unter
diesen Bedingungen NICHT kaufen.

It a posting about Windows XP. Maybe the wrong newagroup?
The question was if there's a way to avoid the "activating-event" after the
first 30 days using it.

I don't know enough German to make much senese of it, but '30 Tage' (30
days) means it's almost certainly spam.

But I know more than Babelfish, it seems.

White someone like one the activation sequence after 30 days to turn into
can? If I can install myself a bought version ONLY ON a computer, then leave
I that.

Well,

we all know that Microsoft doesn't like ASCII Arts, at least I can't find
anything about ASCII Art in their DirectX package.

So throw it into the next trashcan and download Linux.

That was a literal translation...

Wei in this context is not WHITE but Wissen, to know
so it just says,

Does anyone know how one can ignore the 30 days activationsequence?
What if I install the Purchased Version on only one PC, then can I
do so.

I guess that would be closest. I am NOT an European and have not used
German for more than 3 years. I guess this is closest, from my knowledge
of german. ;)

There's ONE Program someone wrote which provides Direct Ascii.

I`ll put it on my homepage as soon I can. (wait 30min.)

www.3mg.de/ascii.zip

This Program plays avi videos as an ascii in realtime.
Perhaps you found it earlier here.

This ASCII art requires DirectAscii 6.0 for its use of the '.' symbol.

PS: Das musste ich jetzt einfach an dieser Stelle posten. Is a really good

Never mind ;-)

I guess it's about Windows XP.

I would not buy it either, as XP stands for "eXtra Problems" ;-)

And I do not think it makes sense to install it on an older PC as you
need new drivers for it and most driver manufacturers do not create
them for older hardware (for my graphics card there is even no Win98
driver available...)

Michael, still Win95

I have had less problems with XP than any other Microsoft OS
It's extremely stable.
It still has problems though.

I had the problem that there weren't any really good driver for my Aureal 8830 based
soundcard .. until Windows XP .. it's included driver rocks.
Win XP has really excellent driver support .. and for lots of older hardware too.

There are negative points to it ofcourse .. I can spot several places that could neeed
improvement... but overall i'd say it's the best OS to come out of Microsoft yet.

>Michael, still Win95

Win95 is still a good system .. if I was to run a M$ OS on a slow PC it would probably be
Win95 or Win98se (trimmed by 98lite and with the win95 explorer)

what is 98lite? and by win95 explorer, do you mean IE4!?

http://www.98lite.net
And by the Win95 explorer I mean the Win95 explorer.exe .. the program that shows files in
windows when you browse your computer.
The Win95 explorer was less bloated and did not integrate Web capabilities (read: bloat)
and was therefore faster , more responsive and more stable - plus it used fewer resources.

98lite can among other things hack this explorer into Win98 , Win98se and WinME

A lite version of windows runs faster and is more stable.
If someone happen to have an english Win95 a b or c they are very welcome to send me the 3
needed files from it .. sincce I have a Danish Win95b that does'nt do well with my english
Win98se .. ofcourse this all matters less now that I run WinXP on my main system - But it
could come in handy when I assemble a new slower PC from spare parts (I'm already building
one for my parents at the moment)
