If you have a pic for GUI browsers to go along with it, this should work.

I tried doing the same thing.
2 solutions:
	a) have a line like <a href="asciipic.asc">link to pic</a>
		which will load up a seperate file that is not interpreted
		as HTML

	b) include ascii art in html page.
		put pic between <pre> and </pre>, but you ALSO have to 
		change all 
			   '"' (thats qoute characters) to &quot
		           '<' to &lt
			   '>' to &gt
                           '&' to &amp

takes a while but it should fix your problem.

In my experience, "&gt;" isn't necessary.  Also, remember to include the
required semicolon after each of those, otherwise some browsers may not
recognize them or simply eat the next character.

Also, if you include ASCII art in the ALT="" tag of an <IMG> statement,
you cannot use any of those & commands and so you also cannot use " or >
either in your artwork.  For that situation I recommend replacing them
with ' or ) respectively.
